Worldham Golf Club
Built in 1992, Worldham has matured into an excellent parkland course set on the border of the South Downs National Park. At 6257 yards, Worldham is not long by modern standards but with its undulating greens and mature woodland it presents a challenge for both new and experienced golfers.
Worldham has had an up and down existence both on and off the course in recent times but now with a new management structure the development has taken an upward turn.
One of the major changes was to let the maintenance of the course to Eagle Golf Services Limited on a long term contract. Julian Covey, director of this company, has over 40 years experience within the golf industry, greenkeeping at some of the best courses in Hampshire, Dorset and Surrey. He has also constructed over 20 golf courses in this country along with renovation works on existing courses to include greens, tees and bunker construction, drainage and irrigation.
Eagle Golf Services Limited has taken the responsibility of maintaining Worldham away from the owners and by doing this they now have fixed costings for that element of the golf course expenditure each year.
Eagle Golf Services Limited employ qualified greenkeeping staff and with their knowledge and experience the course is now benefiting from this.
The company undertakes all the maintenance procedures within the contract which include:-
• All aspects of cutting
• Top dressing
Along with other maintenance procedures to provide quality on a day to day basis.
The company is also, with the owners, producing a long term plan for improvement to the course.
